Socialmedia.com Co-Founder and VP of Products Dave Gentzel to Discuss Best Practices in Social Advertising at the SWAT Summit in San Francisco

July 14, 2008

SAN FRANCISCO, July 14 — socialmedia.com announced today
that co-founder and VP of products David Gentzel will be presenting on a
panel at the SWAT Summit in San Francisco, CA at the Westin St. Francis on
Thursday, July 17, 2008. This one day conference offers the inside scoop on
advertising and marketing within social networks, identifying ways for
agencies and brands to leverage next generation marketing where consumers
live, online.

Brands have the opportunity to reach coveted demographics in ways that
resonate with their specific interests and values. Brand advertisers can
leverage widgets, apps, display or mobile social media marketing to deliver
tangible results in a safe environment. This event will examine what
agencies and ad networks are currently doing to monetize, how are brands
and agencies allocating money and how are campaigns being run.

Understanding the full scope of how to advertise within applications –
display/text ads, social banners, custom applications, sponsorships — and
how marketers can utilize this full spectrum of advertising vehicles to
reach and influence social users, is essential to the success of any ad
campaign. Mr. Gentzel will participate on the panel “Best Practices in
Social Advertising,” focusing on what agencies and ad networks are
currently doing to monetize, how brands and agencies are allocating money
and how the campaigns are being run. Panelists will discuss the strategies
and trends for blending into the online communities in a legitimate,
meaningful way, building inventory and revenues. Mr. Gentzel will weigh the
issues and what to watch for in the future, where social media advertising
is headed, and how it has reached its current status now.

The panel is moderated by Rachel Masters VP of Strategic Relationships
of Ning, and Mr. Gentzel is joined by Sonya Chawla, Senior Advertising
Director of Slide, Kevin Barenblat, CEO of [context], and Misha Cornes,
Group Director of Strategy, of Organic. The panel takes place at 3:45 p.m.
PDT.
