CTIA 2008: Comba Telecom Launches New Tower Solution for US Mobile Operators and Core Equipment Vendors

Comba Telecom Systems Holdings Limited (”Comba” or the “Group”, HKEx: 2342), a leading wireless enhancement solutions provider, announced the launch of its Tower Bottom Solutions (TBS) for US mobile operators and core equipment vendors at the CTIA Wireless 2008 event held in Las Vegas, United States.

Deployed as part of a base station setup and installed at the bottom of base station tower sites, Comba’s TBS allows for higher output power levels, thereby increasing the coverage range and area of base station cell sites. The impact on this for mobile operators is that it potentially reduces the number of base stations required for a new network rollout and therefore optimizes network investment.

Currently available as 850Mhz and 1900Mhz Dual Band TBS, Comba’s solution features its advanced MCPAs with mixed modulation with GSM, CDMA, EDGE and WCDMA. It allows for multiple operators and multiple systems to share a single base station antenna — thereby realizing efficiencies in terms of additional equipment costs and smaller footprint. Options of TBS rack and cabinet designs for indoor and outdoor environments provide customers with maximum flexibility for solution deployment.
