New Programs at FOSE 2008 to Feature DoD Security Official and Sun Microsystems Chairman

FOSE 2008, the most comprehensive event for government information technology (IT) professionals, today announced two new featured presenters - Mr. Robert Lentz, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Information and Identity Assurance, Department of Defense (DoD), and Mr. Scott McNealy, Chairman and Co-Founder, Sun Microsystems and Chairman,
Sun Microsystems Federal, Inc.

They join an impressive roster of IT executive keynotes taking part in the FOSE 2008 Conference program, including previously announced Google Enterprise Vice President and General Manager Dave Girouard; New York Times columnist, Missing Manual publisher, and Emmy-winning CBS News Correspondent David Pogue; and Scientific Principal Investigator for the Mars Exploration Rover (MER) Project Steven Squyres.

On April 1st from 10:30-11:30am, Mr. McNealy will discuss “Open Wins.” This session is open to all attendees. Also on April 1st from 12:00-1:30pm, Mr. Lentz will provide his insights into “How Government Managers Can Create Strategic Vision in Today’s Operating Environment.” This session is open to FOSE 2008 Conference attendees only. The FOSE 2008 Conference program is a fee-based educational opportunity that offers a variety of topical presentations designed to help foster the sharing of government best practices, as well as the adoption of new technologies and proven implementations.

IDC Government Insights and Washington Technology will sponsor a session entitled “A Focus on Partnerships that Win Government Business.” Taking place on April 3rd from 10:00-11:30am, this session showcases how government contractors are moving into new lines of business and/or managing acquisitions as a key tool to success. Also, Google will be providing educational and training sessions free of charge to attendees that register in advance in their booth (#2200). Titled “Google 101: Google Products for Government,” these sessions will focus on the following applications:

– Google Maps

– Google SketchUp

The Google training, combined with the earlier announced keynote, give Google a major presence at the event.
